Montevetrano Core 2020

Born from the family estate of Silvia Imparato in Campania, Montevetrano has become one of Southern Italy’s most celebrated wine names. What began as a small agricultural property passed down from Silvia’s grandparents evolved into a pioneering winery, with legendary winemaker Riccardo Cotarella helping shape its wines. Core was created to showcase Aglianico, one of Campania’s great native grapes, from mature vineyards in the volcanic soils of Sannio. The 2020 is 100% Aglianico, offering aromas of dark cherry, violet, sage, cedar, and spice, followed by a round, juicy palate with bright acidity, polished tannins, and a long finish of licorice and red fruit. Rich yet fresh, it is an elegant expression of this powerful Southern Italian grape. Pair it with braised short ribs, grilled lamb, sausage and broccoli rabe, hearty pasta, mushroom dishes, or aged cheeses.
