From one of Montalcino’s most historic estates, Il Poggione has been producing Brunello since the late 1800s and was among the founding members of the Brunello di Montalcino Consortium, helping define the region’s global reputation. Crafted from 100% Sangiovese and aged extensively in large oak casks before bottle release, the 2019 Riserva is a powerful yet refined expression of the vintage. It opens with layered aromas of black cherry, plum, dried rose, tobacco, and baking spice, with hints of licorice and earthy minerality. On the palate, it is full-bodied and structured, with firm, polished tannins, vibrant acidity, and remarkable depth leading to a long, evolving finish.
